Developers at odds over River Styx

A proposed subdivision in northern Ouachita Parish would see the construction of 71 garden-style homes on a 16-acre tract of land off Lennon Camp Road near Horseshoe Lake.

At its regular meeting Monday night, the Ouachita Parish Police Jury was expected to issue preliminary subdivision approval for Unit 1 of River Styx Subdivision, a residential development proposed by Michael Sampognaro.

Consulting engineer Kevin Crosby went so far as to make a formal recommendation for preliminary approval of the development.
