Sunday last was a most memorable Father's Day at First West for we heard from Cincinatti Bengals' Captain, Andrew Whitworth, who puts the Lord first in his life, family second, and the Bengals team, third...balance! Andrew has a goal to win in the SuperDome for his West Monroe team won the 5A State Championship twice there, LSU won the national championship in the La.

Dome when he played there, and he hopes to lead his Bengals to the Dome this season. Andrew is 30 years old now and in the best shape of his career. He is considererd one of the older and most mature members of his Bengal squad. He shared a story of teammate, the late Chris Henry, who was killed in a tragedy involving domestic abuse, a year after he had accepted the Lord in his life. Andrew told of the Bengals, 62 in the locker room...some of no faith, no knowledge of God or Jesus the Christ, holding hands and each praying out loud that the Lord would receive Chris Henry into His heavenly home.
