Budget ax falling at ULM The University of Louisiana-Monroe will cut roughly $900,000 from its current fiscal year after the state Legislature handed down more than $25 million in cuts to higher education.
Meanwhile, the university will also face $4.3 million or more in cuts during the upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1.
ULM President Nick Bruno said that the university plans to absorb the cuts through attrition. Faculty and staff who have recently retired will not be replaced, according to Bruno.
