Parish prepares for road work

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury could soon know which of the more than 1,000 miles of parish roads it maintains will receive attention in the coming year.

Parish engineer Kevin Crosby is expected to present the list of roads that will be included in the 2012-2013 roads program at the next regular Police Jury meeting. The meeting is scheduled for June 18.

At a regular meeting of the Police Jury held Monday night, Police Jury Public Works Committee Chairman Mack Calhoun said Crosby's list was the first step in assessing what work the Police Jury will be able to do with state funds it receives this year.
