Ouachita Christian ushered in the of the summer's prep workout and conditioning schedule by hosting six schools at its annual 7 on 7 football exhibition.  Each of the participating schools played four exhibition contests against other schools that were competing.

Area high schools competing were Caldwell Parish, Delhi Charter, Neville, OCS, Richwood, Riverfield Academy and Talluah Academy.

"You know, 7 on 7 is something that has really grown over the last ten years," OCS Coach Steven Fitzhugh said.  "Even if you are a running team, you need to work on these things because you are going to have to defend the pass at some time and pass the ball some time."

According to Coach Fitzhugh, the OCS 7 on 7 exhibition is really not about keeping score on the individual games.  In fact, scores were not recorded.

"The purpose is to get out here today and dust the cobwebs off," Coach Fitzhugh said. "Every school here is going to go to more 7 on 7s, and hopefully today will help each of us get ready for the upcoming 7 on 7 tournaments."

Richwood Rams Head Coach Warren Trimble is utilizing this time with his players to teach the philosophies of the Rams defense and offense to its skill positions.
