Aldermen recognize student citizens for May

The Sterlington Board of Aldermen recently recognized its final Student Citizen honorees for the 2011-12 academic year.

The awards for the month of May were presented by Alderman Lucy Holtzclaw. The Student Citizen recognitions will resume in the fall.

Braedon Bonner was named Elementary Student Citizen of the Month. He is student at Sterlington Elementary School and was nominated by his teacher Candra Parks.

"Braedon is a joy," said Parks. "He is always polite and he follows the rules regardless of what people around him are doing. He exhibits good character and citizenship wherever he goes."
