Town OKs sewer work for residential development

The Town of Sterlington has agreed to provide sewer lines to a development of upscale cottage duplexes under construction by Monroe developer Larry Culp.

The Board of Aldermen approved a cooperative endeavor agreement with Culp that will govern the town's responsibilities for the project. The board acted on the matter during a special meeting Tuesday night.

Action on the agreement had been postponed from the last regular meeting to give aldermen more time to consider the financial impact of the project. The project will involve up to $55,000 from Sterlington's Tax Increment Finance District, or TIF.
