The Monroe Dixie Youth Baseball Association season is in full swing and the baseball teams are looking to the home stretch.

"The season is going really well," Monroe Dixie Youth Board Member and Coach Stewart Shelby said. "We have over 700 boys age 4-19 years oldcompeting in our various leagues."

In the Monroe Dixie Youth Baseball Association, the leagues are divided by age of the boys.

The various leagues are Tee Ball (4-5 years old), Junior Ball (6 year olds), Pitching Machine(7-8 years old), Dixie Youth is split into two divisions – one for 9-10 years old and one for 11-12 years old, Dixie Boys (13 – 14 years old) and Dixie Majors(15-19).

As is the case in youth sports, volunteers are critical to Monroe Dixie Youth Baseball Association putting on a successful season.
