Turf installation ongoing

Construction crews are busy installing the new field turf fields at the stadiums of Ouachita Parish High School, Richwood High School and Sterlington High School.

Each stadium has seen a various level of completion. In order to get the fields put in place at the multiple sites before football season, the Ouachita Parish School Board are using a phase staggered method of construction.

Desoto Parish School Board used a similar construction process when installing field turf at Mansfield High School, North Desoto High School and Logansport High School last summer.

When installing field turf, the construction process is completed inphases. The first phase is to tear up the previous football field.

The next phase is putting the drainage system in place. Currently at Sterlington, the drainage phase is being completed.

After implementation of the drainage system, the construction moves to various levels of leveling the field and applying the substructure.
