OCS develops youth football skills by kicking off summer youth camp season
 As the temperatures heat up outside, the activities for Ouachita Parish youth are getting into full swing with area High School hosting youth sports camps for elementary age children.
At Ouachita Christian School, over fifty kids are taking part in a four day football camp entitled – "Believe and Achieve."
"We want them to have fun out here this week and learn some basics of football," Coach Fitzhugh said. "More importantly, we want them to understand that they need to have a great attitude to help each other and get along with one another."
Football fundamentals are not the only lessons being taught to the campers at OCS.
"We are also practicing the fundamentals of discipline," Coach Fitzhugh said. "Such as, standing in line, saying 'Yes sir' and 'No Sir' and hopefully the kids will come away with a better attitude for the summer."
With over 140 kids registered for the three camp sessions, the OCS coaching staff will have their hands full working with the next generation of future football stars.
