Coach Coats believed in me
I loved to teach. I loved kids. I wanted to see them succeed. I said that I wanted them to succeed; not necessarily to see them make straight A's, but to see them succeed where their passions lie.
I went to school with some classmates who were brilliant, but they made D's and F's. I also went to school with some students who made all C's, but became highly successful in their chosen fields.
Sometimes we in the educational field have become misguided. We have become more interested in the status of grades rather than the status of their learning. When I began working on my Master's Degree, I was allowed to enter my chosen field on probation.
