Miss Louisiana returns to Monroe in June

The eyes of the region will be on Monroe in late June, when 36 women from around the state will take to the stage at the Monroe Civic Center to compete for the title of Miss Louisiana 2012.

Viewers throughout Louisiana, south Arkansas, western Mississippi and as far away as east Texas and Oklahoma will tune in Saturday, June 23 for the 49th annual Miss Louisiana Pageant and, according to the Monroe-West Monroe Convention and Visitors Bureau, the broadcast is an important opportunity for northeast Louisiana to shine.

"The TV coverage provides a good time to put our best foot forward and show what all Monroe has to offer," said Alana Cooper, CVB executive director.
The pageant is held every June in Monroe.
