The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office is conducting a routine investigation into an officer-involved shooting that occurred Thursday morning.

Sometime around 11:30 a.m., the West Monroe Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Tulane Ave.

During initial contact with the individuals involved in the disturbance, one of the individuals refused to comply with officer commands and then brandished a firearm, according to a news release issued by the West Monroe Police Department.

The officers fired and wounded the individual. The individual later died at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
