Neville title hopes end with loss to Teurlings

The Neville Tigers' run through the LHSAA postseason hit a brick wall
Friday as the Teurlings Catholic (TC) Rebels defeated Neville 10-5 in the
semifinal game held at Sulphur's McMurry Park.

Teurlings Catholic (23-11-1) went on the win the Class 4A state championship on Saturday defeating Holy Cross in six innings by the score of 11-1 at Sulphur's McMurry
Park.

The game was called due to the LHSAA's mercy rule which states "A
game can be called if a team is up by 15 runs by the 3rd inning or 10 runs
by the 5th inning."

It was truly heartbreaking for the Neville nation. TC jumped out to an early
3-0 led before Neville trimmed it down to 3-2.

The Rebels added four more runs in the fourth. The Tigers played the
Rebels very tight throughout the game behind the pitching of senior standout Colton Tucker who was marred by a fielding error in the bottom of the sixth inning that led to a bases loaded clearing triple by TC's Brock Blanchard.
