Regional Tennis Championships - Neville and St. Fred sweep titles

The St. Frederick Warriors and the Neville Tigers tennis tennis teams swept regional championships this week.

In Division 1, the St. Frederick Lady Warriors edged district rival OCS (finished 2nd place) to claim the girls title. St. Frederick was led by Elaine Simon who beat Maggie Manning of Cedar Creek in the singles final. In doubles, the team of Lily Ryan and Reagan LaPietra beat teammates Emery Miller and Analise Kelly in the finals.

On the boys side, Alec Shell (singles) and doubles team of Jon Kelley / Brandon Brandon won their respective categories to lead the St. Frederick Warriors to the regional championship.

In Division II regional action, the Neville Tigers swept the competion to win both the boys and girls team titles.

Neville were led by Neel Dhaliwal (boys singles champion), Frances Altick (girls singles champion) and their girls double team who finished first.

The West Ouachita Chiefs came in second with their doubles team winning that category.

The Neville girls won the regional doubles title.

The LHSAA state championships begin Monday at ULM and Forsythe Park.
