I have heard versions of this story over the last few years and shared it with students, who seem to relate life lessons to stories and real-life examples. I would now like to share it with readers of this column.

One day a very busy man hopped in a taxi, and it took off for the airport. They were driving in the right lane, when suddenly a black car pulled out of a parking space right in front of them.

The taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at the taxi driver.

The taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. He was really friendly! So the passenger asked, "Why did you just do that? That guy almost ruined your car and sent us both to the hospital!"
