This past Sunday was Earth Day. We see mentions about it for several days. A special day for Earth Day began April 22, 1970, and has continued through the years to emphasize a very real and serious need for us to care for the earth on which we live.  Commenting on the beginning of Earth Day, the Sen. Gaylord Nelson wrote the following.
