Refuge hosts Feathery Fun for Families

The third annual Feathery Fun for Families, celebrating International Migratory Bird Day, will be held at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, May 12.

The first activity of the day will be a guided bird walk at 8 am. Participants will meet Joan Brown in refuge visitor center parking lot. Bring your binoculars or borrow some belonging to the facility.

Other activities will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until noon. These will include: breakfast with the birds, how to use binoculars, how to identify birds using field characteristics and field guides, bird mystery geo-caching, bird migration game, face painting, bird button pins, owl pellets and more.
