Home sellers must divorce from emotional attachments

If you are a home seller or anticipate becoming one soon you will be faced with some decisions, especially as it relates to what price to place on your home.

The home market peaked in terms of price and buyers in 2006 in most parts of the country. So if you purchased a home at or about that time you may find that what you paid for your home and what you can sell it for have changed.

Recently a seller was quoted as saying, "I know home prices have lost value but my home is different." Most home sellers feel that way about their home. It is hard for most homeowners to divorce their home from an emotional or sentimental attachment when the time comes to sell.
