English-Speaking Union hosts guests from Oxford

"Not Yet an Inkling: The Early Oxford Years of C.S. Lewis and JRR Tolkien," was presented to the English-Speaking Union on Thursday, April 10.

The Evelyn Wrench Speakers sent from London by National ESU were Robin Darwall-Smith, author and archivist, Magellan, Oxford University, England; and Peter Gilliver, associate editor, Oxford English Dictionary. A question-and-answer panel followed the program presentation. Inkling refers to a group of published and non-published authors who met to critique each others' writings.

Presiding was Jim Dimos, who recognized the outstanding speakers for the ESU Branches as arranged by national headquarters. Minette Saber introduced the guest speakers.
