LA Tech's Iron Dogs takes national runner up - Dunn named outstanding lift

The Louisiana Tech powerlifting team captured the national runner up title at the Collegiate National Powerlifting Championships in Baton Rouge on April 13th -15th.

Jordan Dunn led the Iron Dawgs by winning his 75 kg class with squat of 678 lbs., bench press of 454 lbs. and deadlift of 574 lbs.

Dunn, who graduated from OCS in 2010, was also named "Champion of Champions" which is the outstanding lifter title for the meet.

Dunn set national records in the squat, bench press and total weight categories.

Other LA Tech lifters who placed were Ja'mon Williams (2nd place in 52 kg class), Garth Sullivan (2nd place in 56 kg class) and Courtney Sharp (2nd place in 125 kg class), Collin Hughes (110 kg class), Antwine McFarlancd (3rd place in super heavy weight class).

Dunn's father, Dr. Butch Dunn was also an All-American first teamer . This year's meet marks the first time that a father /son combination were All Americans at LA Tech.

Dunn will next compete in the Junior World Championships in Poland in September of 2012.
