Support surfaces for OCC millage

Monroe voter Joel Turner was surprised to learn that voters will be asked to entertain a 9.2-mill levy in the April 21 election to fund operations at Ouachita Correctional Center.

Turner said he considered himself a regular voter and tries to stay abreast of issues, but he was not aware the millage proposal would appear on the general election ballot.

"I didn't even know it was on the ballot," Turner said.
