Poll workers at the Ouachita Parish Registrar of Voters Office have been busy this week, as more than 1,400 individuals have cast ballots ahead of the April 21 general election.

Registrar of Voters Christa Medaries said her office has witnessed "a decent turnout" thus far during early voting.

"It's been busy," Medaries said.

As of Wednesday morning, some 1,479 voters had cast ballots parish-wide. More than 100 mail-in ballots had been received in addition to the early votes.
