When a buyer purchases an existing home, they are usually very careful to know the condition of the home.

Does the plumbing work? Is there structural damage? Has it ever flooded? Does it have any mold? Is there a recent termite inspection? Do all the appliances that remain work? Are there any roof leaks? And, so on.

A realtor will produce a form that the seller has completed called a Louisiana Residential Property Disclosure Form. Armed with all this information you will now know everything about the home you are buying. Well, not quite everything. There is one important missing bit of information that no one is required to reveal unless a buyer has specifically asked the question or does the research for himself that may significantly affect the resale value of the home.
