West Monroe hosts ethics training

The city of West Monroe played host Tuesday to employees of the Ouachita Parish Police Jury, who joined city employees and other government officials in receiving required ethics training.

The Louisiana Board of Ethics conducted two ethics training sessions at the West Monroe Convention Center. The sessions were conducted by Michael Dupree with the state Ethics Board.

"This training session fulfills the state requirement through the Board of Ethics for the one hour of ethics training per year that all state employees must undergo," Dupree said.

Ethics training that took place Tuesday is a requirement of the comprehensive ethics reform package the Legislature approved in 2008, during Gov. Bobby Jindal's first term in office.
