Farmer's market preps for busy season

The West Monroe Farmer's Market is gearing up for a busy summer, according to market manager Bob Burgess.

Burgess spoke at an annual vendor's appreciation luncheon held Tuesday in West Monroe during which he highlighted some of the plans and challenges facing the farmer's market.

"The market is starting to gather some momentum and gain attention," Burgess said.

Among the new developments at the market, the LSU AgCenter master gardeners are developing a butterfly demonstration garden on the property.
