It is hard to believe that a school in as rich a tradition of Neville High School in Monroe will still be experiencing a "first" in its athletic program, but that is exactly what happened this past Monday.

In a game that was called in the second inning due to inclement weather, the Neville Lady Tigers finished off their district rival West Ouachita 10-7 to claim the school's first outright district softball championship.

"It is awesome," Neville Head Coach Jeff Tannehill said. "These girls have played well all year and we have come together as a team."

The Lady Chiefs were none to eager to give up their crown in district.
