St. Fred Lady Warriors sweep Arcadia
The St. Frederick Lady Warriors hosted the Arcadia Lady Hornets for "Senior Night" in a key District 2-1A softball double header on Thursday.
In game one, the Lady Warriors (4-6, 4-3) knocked off the Lady Hornets (3-14, 1-7) 6-3. In game two, St. Frederick was trailing 6-3 in the bottom of third inning, but the Lady Warriors rallied to take the game 10-6.
"I am so proud of the way the girls played today," St. Frederick 1st year head coach Meagan Russell said. "They have come a long way since we started the season."
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the third, senior Kacy Jones hit a triple to left field to score three runs to start the St. Fred rally.
In addition to her excellent performance at the plate, Jones pitched complete games in both contests.
Before the games, St. Frederick honored their two senior softball players Kaci Jones and Shelby Turner as part of the "Senior Night" ceremonies.
St. Frederick will next take to the road on Monday to face Cedar Creek (15-9, 6-1) in a make up game that was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
The Lady Warriors final game of the regular season will be at Quitman (17-6) on April 10th.
