Two big innings by Oral Roberts (12-13) and defensive miscues by Louisiana Tech (13-14) allowed ORU to take a huge lead as Tech fell to the Golden Eagles, 14-4, on Saturday afternoon at J.L. Johnson Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Former Neville Tiger and current right fielder for Tech Taylor Burch went 3-for-4 from the plate as the sophomore recorded three hits for the first time in his career.

Phil Maton (5-2) was credited with the loss after allowing three runs – two earned – and striking out three in 5.0 innings. Alex Gonzalez (3-1) picked up his third win of the season after allowing just one run while striking out 10.

After scoring three runs in the second and third innings combined to take a 3-0 lead, the Golden Eagles added six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on five hits and three errors to take a 9-0 lead.
