The 2012 prep baseball season has been a roller coaster ride for most parish teams.

With only five losses on the year, the Ruston Bearcats are looking to be the top contender for the title in district 2-5A. Standing in their way is the West Monroe Rebels. West Monroe will host game one of the series with Ruston on Thursday, April 5th at Shelby Aulds Field on the campus of West Monroe High School.

On Saturday, the series will switch to Ruston where the Bearcats will host the Rebels for a double header. Having lost a series to Ouachita last week two games to one, West Monroe is in a "must win" situation if they want to be in position to make a run for the District 2-5A championship.
