OCS battles Choudrant in extra inning game between state powers
In a classic battle between two of the state's elite softball powers, the Ouachita Christian Lady Eagles (12-9, 5-1) knocked off the 9-10 Choudrant Lady Aggies (6-10, 2-1) at OCS on Tuesday.
"There is no doubt, Choudrant brought their A game tonight," OCS coach Joy Thomas said. "I am proud of the way our girls did not quite despite being down."
In the bottom of the eighth inning, OCS freshman Callie Teekel delivered a walk off game winning RBI to cap a wild late inning rally.
In the first six innings, it appeared OCS would walk out with an easy 4-2 win.
The Lady Aggies had other ideas. In the top of the seventh, Choudrant bats came alive - scoring several key runs to force extra innnings.
"We did not give up," Choudrant coach Hillary Branch said. "Even though we came up short, we are difinitely headed in the right direction as a team."
