Lady Crusaders district champs - Claiborne Christian wins title for 6th time
With only a few wins under their belts, the Claiborne Lady Crusaders (3-8, 2-0) stepped on the field Tuesday with nothing but heart and determination to win their sixth District 2-C championship in a row.
As champions often do, CCS overcame an early setback to defeat the Dubach Lady Hornets 8-4 at Claiborne Christian. In the top of the first inning, Dubach quickly jumped to the early lead by a score of 1 to 0.
While being behind on the scoreboard has been a struggle for the Lady Crusaders in this 2012 season, CCS knew they were going to have to fight until the finish.
"The girls fought hard and played tough," first year CCS head coach Jessica Bullock said. "Going into the game, we were faced a do or die situation as far as the playoff go, and our girls stepped up and got the job done."
