Softball season is hitting the home stretch as parish teams are well into their district schedules.

According to the latest power rankings by www.kenramsey.com, West Monroe (ranked # 2 in Class 5A), Ouachita Parish, (ranked #14 in Class 5A), Neville (ranked #1 in Class 4A), West Ouachita (ranked #11 in Class 4A), Sterlington (ranked #2 in Class 2A) and Ouachita Christian (ranked #17 in Class 1A) appear to be parish's best bets to make it the LHSAA's Fast Pitch 56 State Championship Tournament in Sulphur in May.

District 2-5A

West Monroe is playing some of their best ball in the parish, but the Lady Rebels (13-2, 2-0) will have their hands full asmost of the District 2-5A teams are ranked in the top 16 in Class 5A.
Currently, the undefeated Natchitoches Central Lady Chiefs (14-0, 1-0) are ranked sixth, Pineville Lady Rebels (11-3, 0-2) ranked eleventh, and the Ouachita Parish Lady Lions (14-5, 1-0) are ranked fourteenth.

The only team not ranked among the top 32 from District 2-5A is the Ruston Lady Bearcats (5-11, 0-2).
