This past Thursday through Friday, the 2012 Marucci Baseball Classic was held at three parish high schools. Ouachita Parish, Neville and West Monroe hosted teams from Notre Dame-Crowley, St. Louis Catholic, Sterlington, Ruston, Tioga, Teurlings Catholic, Zachary and Captain Shreve.

The Zachary Broncos (3-0) were the only team to make it through thetournament undefeated. The parish teams competing in the Marucci Classic posted the following records: West Monroe (3-1), Neville (2-2), Ouachita Parish (2-2) and Sterlington (1-3).

The West Monroe Rebels (10-6, ) went 3-1 with their only defeat coming against Tioga 3-2 on Thursday. The Neville Tigers gave the Tioga Indians their only loss in the tournament in a 9-8 decision at Neville's Embanato Field.

In the Marucci Classic finale in front of a packed house at West Monroe's Shelby Aulds Field, the Rebels won a dramatic 11-10 win over the Neville Tigers (5-10, 0-0) Saturday night.
